Obstetrics And Gynecology
Obstetrician-gynecologists (OB/GYNs) are physicians who have specialized knowledge, skills, and professional capability in the medical and surgical care of the female reproductive system and associated disorders, distinguishing them from other physicians and allowing them to serve as consultants to other physicians as well as primary physicians for women. Over time, each obstetrician-gynecologist expands on this broad base of knowledge and skills, developing a distinct form of practice and shifting professional focus. Such diversity helps to ensure high-quality healthcare for women.
