Antenatal care

Preventive healthcare includes prenatal care, sometimes referred to as antenatal care. It is given in the form of medical checkups, which include advice on leading a healthy lifestyle and the distribution of medical information about prenatal nutrition, including prenatal vitamins, and maternal physiological changes in pregnancy.

This prevents potential health issues throughout the course of the pregnancy and promotes the health of both the mother and the unborn child. The prevalence of maternal mortality, miscarriages, birth abnormalities, low birth weight, newborn infections, and other avoidable health issues has decreased as a result of the availability of standard prenatal treatment, including prenatal screening and diagnosis.

during the first two trimesters, visits were monthly (from the 1st week to the 28th week)

from the 28th to the 36th week of pregnancy, there were biweekly visits.

weekly visits from the 38th to the 42nd week following the 36th week till the delivery

Evaluation of family dynamics and parenting requirements

Pregnant women are divided into normal-risk and high-risk groups at the initial prenatal care appointment using a unique booking checklist.

Women are frequently provided a summary of their case notes that includes pertinent background data regarding their pregnancies, including their medical history, growth charts, and any scan findings. The midwives and physicians can utilize the summary of the mother’s case records if she receives treatment or gives birth at a different hospital until her hospital notes are received.
